PGMP Tips
- Ensure you master the PMBOK Guide first.
- As a Program is a group of related Projects you have to master Project Management the best practices. You have to master the PMBok Guide.
- Read the Program and Portfolio Management Standards.
- The Examination is based on this standards, so read them.
- Study the Program Life Cycle in comparison with the Project Life Cycle.
- It might help you to compare the both Life Cycles. You will retrieve several common points and you will be able to identify the differences and remember them. For instance - as opposed to the PMP - the PgMP considers the interfaces between several projects and the transition to the ongoing operations.
- Good to know: there is a great table (page 98) in the Program Management Standard (1st Edition) where you can visualize all the Program and Project processes by Process Group.
- Distinguish the Corporate Strategic Vision, the Corporate Benefits Management Approach and the Organizational Governance.
- Read additional books concerning the PgMP.
- Look at the PMP Certification and Exam Tips.
